This workshop is for those wishing to learn more about etching or refine their existing skills. You will have the opportunity to work on individual projects guided by experienced printmakers/artists Clare Jackson and Tim Pauszek. A range of techniques will be demonstrated - such as aquatint, sugar lift, spit bite, chine-collé, and multi plate colour printing - so students can incorporate them into their work as they choose.

Some prior experience required - ideal for those who have completed Intro to Print or have worked with etching before.

Price of workshop includes all materials.

ABOUT THE TUTORS

Tim Pauszek is a Western New York native, who moved to Australia to undertake a Masters in Fine Art at UNSW with Cicada Press. Tim has just joined the Megalo team as our new Press Manager. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Alfred University in chemistry and interdisciplinary art and was employed there as the 2D technician in Drawing, Painting, Photography and Printmaking.

Clare Jackson is a local artist and printmaker who works mainly with etching and lithography. Clare completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts and Honours in printmaking at ANU School of Art and Design, and she is now the Education Manager at Megalo. Clare has completed artist residencies in a number of locations, such as the Wollemi National Park in NSW, The Estonian Printing Museum in Estonia, and Vermont USA.
