Join artist Kyoko Imazu in this special weekend workshop exploring Colour Etching.
Etching is a medium with endless possibilities where an image is scratched, drawn or painted onto a metal plate and etched to produce a range of marks from delicate lines to painterly gesture. Ink is applied to the plate and the print is taken by placing dampened paper onto the plate and passing both through a press. Students will learn how to prepare plates, use a variety of mark making techniques, etch the plate and print using the intaglio presses. Paper preparation and press setting will also be taught. This workshop focuses particularly on using colour in etching processes.
