Megalo Print Studio + Gallery has been at the forefront of Australian printmaking for over 35 years. Based in Canberra, Australia, Megalo Print Studio + Gallery is a professional open-access printmaking studio providing facilities in screen printing on paper and fabric, etching, lithography and relief printing. This is a unique, supported residency opportunity open to Australian and international artists at all stages of their careers. In 2018 there will be three ACT based places, two national and one international place. The selected artists receive a stipend, accommodation (international and national) and studio access to Megalo’s comprehensive, professional printmaking facilities. The residency program aims to support the making of new work that meets the program objectives of excellence and innovation in printmaking.
jimmy langer - 2017
Jimmy Langer is an Australian artist based in Melbourne VIC. Jimmy works with a mixture of print-making, digital software and drawing techniques to produce a range of abstractions and collages that serve as a map of personal experience and perspective.
marilou chagnaud - 2017
Marilou Chagnaud is a French artist and textile designer now living and working in Canberra ACT. Marilou mainly works with fibre materials, printing and folding, navigating between the disciplines of visual art and design.
hannah gason - 2017
Hannah Gason is a Canberra-based visual artist, who graduated from the Australian National University (ANU) School of Art in 2015 with a BA in Visual Arts (Glass) with First Class Honours and a University Medal.
DEREK O'CONNOR - 2017
Born in Warwickshire, England in 1957, Derek O’Connor moved to Adelaide in 1969, and today lives and works in Canberra. Derek will be spending time across studios exploring a combination of mediums.
MEHDI DARVISHI - 2017
Iranian artist Medhi Darvishi will be in residence during November 2017 predominantly spending time in the Press Studios. Mehdi has a fine arts degree from the University of Tehran, Iran and is a prolific print-maker and master of mezzotint. We are thrilled to welcome him to the studios this year.
LEAH BULLEN - 2017
Leah Bullen is a PHD candidate at the Australian National University School of Art and lives in Armidale in regional NSW. She will be in residence during the second half of 2017 developing work for an exhibition to be shown in Canberra and Sydney in 2018. Leah will be working on a series of large, multi-panel monoprints.
