Studio Access

Megalo is equipped with specialised printmaking facilities for intaglio, lithography, relief and screen printing processes. Access is restricted to Megalo members and all access users must be competent in the particular area of the studio they are using. It is recommended that those who are new to a printmaking process, or those who have not printed for some time, enroll in one of the Megalo classes to learn how to use the studios or as a quick refresher.

Members may access the studios from 9.30 am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Extended/after hours access is available by arrangement on Sundays and until 11pm at night, and is available to members who have demonstrated a high level of competency in the studios.

Studio Inductions/Orientations

Prior to using the studios for the first time, members are required to undertake a studio induction. This will cover OH & S and the safe usage of equipment and materials. It will also cover the booking system for equipment in the studios. Inductions are free and are held on the first Saturday of each month (Members' Free Access Day) at another time by arrangement with the Studio Coordinators.

All access members are required to undertake a studio orientation once each year to ensure that they are aware of any changes to procedures and materials that may have occurred since they last used the studio. Orientations are also held on the first Saturday of each month (Members' Free Access Day) or by appointment at other times.
