The Megalo Board of Management reflects the diversity of Megalo’s membership and includes interested individuals who bring professional experience in fields such a such as law, accountancy, curatorship, publishing, administration, education and the government sector to the organisation.
Penny is currently a curator at the National Portrait Gallery. She has previously worked in curatorial and exhibition positions at the National Library of Australia and the National Museum of Australia. Penny is Vice President of the Museums Australia ACT Branch Committee. She has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Master of Liberal Arts (Museums and Collections).
Kate is the Communications Project Officer, Legal Deposit Implementation, National Library of Australia. She is a university medalist in Art History and Theory from the University of Sydney. Kate catalogued a large part of the Megalo screen-print archive, acquired by the National Gallery of Australia, and contributed to Megalomania: 33 Years of Posters Made at Megalo Print Studio, 1980-2013.
Tom is a Chartered Accountant with over 9 years’ experience in providing policy development, costing, procurement, financial analysis and management, tax consulting and financial reporting services. He currently works as a Director in Deloitte's Consulting practice.
Matthew WatkinsPublic Officer
Matthew has a BSc in Economics and Mathematics from the London School of Economics and a MSc Computing from Imperial College London. Matthew currently works as a Director in Deloitte’s Consulting practice providing strategic guidance to commercial and public sector clients. He has a strong background in IT advisory, the operations of small to medium size enterprises and digital enablement of businesses.
Julian has a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Hons) and a Bachelor of Education and is a practicing artist He exhibits nationally and has been involved with inter-cultural projects in Timor and Indonesia. Julian is also an educator working as a primary teacher and assistant principal. He currently lives and works in Braidwood NSW.
John is a highly regarded Canberra artist who has been exhibiting in Australia and overseas for more than thirty years. He is a senior lecturer in the Printmedia and Drawing workshop at the ANU School of Art. John is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery, State Library of NSW, Australian National University, Central Queensland University, Latrobe University, University of WA, Print Council of Australia and KPMG.
Max was CEO of the Australian Heritage Commission, the Australia Council for the Arts and worked at senior levels in several departments, and as head of the Office of Multicultural Affairs in Prime Minister and Cabinet. He has been actively involved in fundraising and philanthropy, serving on many Boards in the profit and not-for-profit sectors and as an adviser for over 25 years.
Adelin has over ten years of architectural and arts management experience. She has worked on numerous design and cultural projects with local government, arts organisations and artists in Australia and the USA. Prior to moving to Canberra, she was involved in providing strategic and capital advice and support to the cultural community in New York as well as liaison to elected officials and private-industry professionals. She currently runs her own consultancy practice and in 2015, managed the DESIGN Canberra festival through Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre.
Emma is a curator in Australian Art at the National Gallery of Australia. She has previously held curatorial positions at the Australian War Memorial and Australian National Maritime Museum. She completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Sydney on the work of Arthur Streeton in Cairo.
Valentina is the General Counsel at the internationally recognised advance technology company, CEA Technologies Pty Limited. Valentina started her career in private practice and has worked in major law firms before moving in-house in the corporate sector. She has a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor Commerce, a Grad Dip in Company Secretarial Practice and a Grad Dip in Applied Finance and Investment.
