This workshop is a great introduction to the rich and expressive medium of etching. Etching is a medium with endless possibilities where an image is scratched, drawn or painted onto a metal plate and etched to produce a range of marks from delicate lines to painterly gesture. Ink is applied to the plate and the print is taken by placing dampened paper onto the plate and passing both through a press. Local artist Kira Godoroja-Prieckaerts will teach students how to prepare plates, use a variety of mark making techniques, etch the plate and print using the intaglio presses.
Price of workshop includes all materials. Suitable for beginners or those wishing to refine their skills.
