SCHOOL + GROUP WORKSHOPS

A great introduction to printmaking for school classes, tertiary education groups, teachers, community groups or work places.

ONE DAY WORKSHOPS

Megalo's workshops for schools and groups are run by our experienced staff. We are able to tailor these programs and provide advice on the best options for your group. Cost is assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on numbers, length, and type of workshop. Please contact our Education Manager on education@megalo.org for more information.

SCREEN PRINTING ON FABRIC

Students will design and print their own t-shirt with one of Megalo’s experienced printmakers. Using hand cut or photographic stencil processes, students will create unique fabric prints on their own t-shirt. They will have an opportunity to use our fully equipped printmaking studios and gain experience of printing on our large fabric table. Students or schools will need to provide a light coloured cotton or linen t-shirt.

POSTER PRINTING

Students will design and print their own poster with one of Megalo’s experienced printmakers. Using hand cut or photographic stencil processes, students will create their own multi-coloured poster print. They will have an opportunity to use our fully equipped printmaking studios and gain experience on our paper print tables.

LINO PRINTING

One of Megalo’s experienced printmakers will introduce students to the wonderful world of relief printing. Students will use drawings and sketches to translate an image to the lino block. The workshop will cover a variety of cutting methods and they will have an opportunity to use our fully equipped printmaking studios and experience printing with presses.

ETCHING

One of Megalo’s experienced printmakers will introduce students to the world of intaglio printing. Students will explore various etching techniques using their own drawings and sketches. They will have an opportunity to use our fully equipped printmaking studios and experience printing with presses. The students will learn how etch a plate, ink up, print and dry the prints during the workshop.
