MULTI-PLATE ETCHING

Join printmaker Clare Jackson in this 5-week course creating multi-plate etchings. This is an excellent process for creating images with different colours. Clare will take you through the process of planning your images, drawing onto copper plates, applying aquatint, etching, and printing with Megalo’s presses. This class is ideal for those with some prior etching experience.

About the tutor
Clare Jackson’s work has been featured in shows around Australia, including Watch this Space in Mparntwe/Alice Springs, Brunswick Street Gallery in Naarm/Melbourne, and as a finalist in both the Fremantle Print Prize and Peebles Print Prize. Jackson’s notable awards include the Early Career Printmaker Award at Inkmasters Cairns 2018, and Second Place in the M16 Drawing Prize in 2015 and 2021. Jackson has undertaken residencies at BigCi in the Wollemi National Park, The Estonian Printing Museum, The Art Vault, Mildura, and Vermont Studio Center, USA. Jackson currently works as a Printer and Education Manager at Megalo Print Studio.

Suitability: Some prior etching knowledge preferable. This class is also an excellent follow up to our Intro to Print, Etching, or Aquatint Workshops.
