JAMES FARRAR, Elucidation of a Veiled Disposition, 2022, linocut on paper

Paper size: 120 cm x 80 cm | Image size: 100 cm x 75 cm

This work focuses on identity, specifically the portrayal of oneself. Every person you have ever met holds a different image of you in their memory. This extends to how we all perceive ourselves. This work captures the fragmentary nature of our identity, the moment in time where one is no longer recognised by themselves. Capturing the moment an identity crisis extends to the point one’s reflection does not adhere to the perceived identity in one’s mind.
