SPOOKY CDS - DRYPOINT ETCHING KIDS WORKSHOP
with April Phillips
8 - 16 Years
1pm - 3pm | Saturday 14th November 2026.
Be inspired by Megalo’s current exhibition by April Phillips’, World Wide Webs and create your own prints from CD’s!
Have you ever listened to The Cockroaches, Spiderbait or Adam and the Ants?
Are your favourite songs Stink Bug by the Beastie Boys, The Mosquito by the Doors, or The Bug by Dire straits?
In this workshop, kids will learn how to mark the surface of the CD, ink it up and print at Megalo guided by experienced staff. Drypoint etching is a method of image making where a hard surface is scratched with a sharp point to produce a groove that holds ink where lines have been scratched. CDs are a soft smooth surface that are easily scratched and wipe away cleanly providing a great introduction into the process.
This workshop will take place in the Megalo gallery where you will be inspired by Megalo’s current exhibition by April Phillips’, World Wide Webs. This exhibition is about being on the internet and the pockets of connection you find while being in that world/sphere.
At the end of this workshop, you will leave with a swarm of prints!
