April Phillips, World of Web, 2026, Courtesy of the artist
April Phillips, assisted by Alex Lundy, ignites the site resonance of the digital realm into physical form - translated as handprinted material produced and presented at Megalo Print Studio. Led by the perspective of a femme spider, World Wide Webs digs into the innate girl-hood desire for uninterrupted computer time… chat rooms abuzz with international communications, windows revealing treasures, self made websites, collective knowledges, shared links, games, archive and iterative creation.
World Wide Webs is presented in partnership with Canberra Art Biennial
About the artist
April Phillips is a Wiradjuri-Scottish woman of the Galari / Kalari Peoples, living and working between Canberra and the far South Coast of NSW. Her art practice is cemented in futurism, visual arts and digital technologies; as lead artist / director working across moving image, illustration and design. April’s practice combines digital outputs with analogue materials and processes including drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics and glass.
