Estelle Briedis is a Canberra-based surface designer and screen printer who specialises in creating original surface designs, exploring ideas of architectural geometry, the mathematical process of tessellation and the aesthetics of symmetry. Estelle has exhibited her works nationally and is currently stocked in several stores Australia wide.

BRONTE BELL

Bronte Bell graduated from ANU School of Art and Design in 2020 and is currently completing her Honours in Printmedia and Drawing with a focus on lithography, drawing, and textiles. Bronte is one of Megalo’s talented Technical Officers and has taught classes in relief printing, screen printing, and lithography. Bronte has exhibited her work at M16 Artspace and Ambush Gallery.

GRETA COOPER

Greta Cooper is an emerging artist working across mediums such as drawing, Printmaking, painting, textiles and photography. Greta’s practice explores her curiosity with nature and her connection with the environment. Recently graduated from ANU School of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours), Greta has started to explore installation by using video and audio techniques. Her artworks look at environmental themes of ecological grief, memory, storytelling, and human’s impact on the environment. She also draws inspiration from her family and hometown Moruya (NSW).

FRANCIS KENNA

Francis Kenna is an interdisciplianary artist living and working on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land. Francis’ spatial practice spans installation, sculpture and printmedia, robotic fabrication and light as an ongoing investigation of perception, matter and our unfolding relationship to our surroundings.  He has exhibited his work nationally through solo and group exhibitions. Francis graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours FIrst Class)/Bachelor of Arts in 2013.  In 2021 he completed a PhD in Visual Art/Art Theory from the School of Art and Design, Australian National University. Francis has presented his research through a number of conferences and publications, and currently works as a guest lecturer and tutor at the Centre for Art History and Theory, Australian National University.

ROBBIE KARMEL

Robbie Karmel completed his PhD at UNSW A+D and returned to Canberra in 2019 to establish his studio in Mitchell. His research and practice explore concepts of mimetic representation, phenomenological embodiment, perception, tool use, and representation through expanded drawing practices, extending into printmaking, sculptural and performative methods. Robbie began working at Megalo in 2023 and has been rediscovering etching, lithography, screenprint, and monoprint. Robbie’s practice includes the production of studio furniture, apparatus, and tools to facilitate and interrupt solo and collaborative performative drawing and making.

QUINTON RANDALL

Quinton Randall (they/them) is a queer emerging artist based on Ngunnawal and Ngambri country. They have an interdisciplinary practice that spans lithography, screen printing, textiles and object making. Quinton uses the lens of liminality and thresholds to explore concepts of spirituality and queer identity, taking inspiration from traditional print languages and techniques. Quinton has completed their diploma of visual arts at the Canberra Institute of Technology. They are currently studying at the ANU School of Art and Design while working at Megalo print studio as a technical officer. Quinton has been published in Imprint Magazine and has worked alongside national and international printmakers, such as Juana Estrada Hernandez and Troppo Print studio.

JOHN HART

John Hart is an artist living and working in Canberra, he spent many years as the Press Studio Manager at Megalo and is currently a technical officer at the School of Art and Design. Having graduated from Printmedia and Drawing at the ANU School of Art in 2010, John has continued to establish himself as a highly skilled printmaker across various mediums, printing for high profile artists as well as his own practice. Over the past few years, he has had solo exhibitions at CCAS Manuka, Helen Stephens Gallery, and Goulburn Regional Art Gallery.

MAXIMILIAN GOSLING

Maximilian Gosling is a Sydney artist working with printmaking, illustration and ceramics. His work explores fictional storytelling utilising idiosyncratic motifs and metaphor. Max graduated with a BVA in Fine arts from the Sydney College of the Arts, and a Studio Masters in printmaking from the University of New South Wales. He has since exhibited both nationally and internationally, opened a gallery in Guadalajara Mexico and became a member of the Sydney Printmakers. He is currently the Press Studio Manager at Megalo Print Studio.

ELISE STANLEY

Elise Stanley is a print-based artist living in Canberra, Australia. Elise completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) in Printmedia & Drawing at Australian National University School of Art and Design. Elise’s work references her own figure across several drawing and print techniques in order to describe her personal experiences of femininity, vulnerability and autonomy. Elise has exhibited both nationally and locally and has received multiple awards for her work.

JOHN PRATT

John Pratt is a graphic artist working across a range of media including printmaking, drawing, collage, artist’s books and projections in public space. Through a series of exhibitions he has been exploring the impact of human presence within a range of natural landscapes and constructed environments. These landscapes or sites range from Natural Parks in the ACT to Southern Coastal Zones through suburbia to the streetscapes of the CBD. In each case the focus has explored the interchange of our existence and the physical space that surrounds us. This current work extends that focus further and explores our engagement with media and the digital world.

CHARLIE GATES

Charlie Gates is an emerging artist working out of Canberra, graduating with honours from UNSW in printmaking and photography, he has exhibited in group and solo shows around Australia. He was a Printer in Residence at Cicada Press, helping artists such as Euan Macleod, Chris O’Doherty and Noel Mckenna. His work centres around exploration of language and the influence context has on understanding, in particular processes of decontextualisation and abstraction.

CLARE JACKSON

Clare Jackson graduated with First Class Honours in Printmedia and Drawing at the Australian National University of School of Art in 2013. Her work has been featured in shows around Australia, including Watch this Space, Brunswick Street Gallery, and as a finalist in both the Fremantle Print Prize and Peebles Print Prize. Clare’s awards include the Early Career Printmaker Award at Inkmasters Cairns 2018, and Second Place in the M16 Drawing Prize in 2015 and 2021. Jackson has undertaken residencies at BigCi in the Wollemi National Park, The Estonian Printing Museum, The Art Vault, Mildura, and Vermont Studio Center, USA. Clare has taught classes in etching, relief printing, screen printing, and lithography, and has printed for artists such as Omar Musa, Naomi Zouwer, and Arone Meeks.

MOLLY KAMENZ

After studying a Bachelor of Natural History Illustration, Molly Kamenz became interested in illustrating the micro and misshapen elements of the natural world. She finds solace in noticing how nature mirrors stages of her life. Her etchings and watercolour paintings explore fertility, dormancy and decay in nature, with a focus on botanical subjects.

ALEX LUNDY

Alex Lundy is a Canberra based artist, who graduated with Honours in Printmedia and Drawing at the Australian National University School of Art and Design in 2017.

Lundy’s latest major body of work 18/05/2021 was exhibited at Sugar Cube Gallery, and her protest poster screen prints have been collected by the National Library of Australia. She has been working with GirlsRock! Canberra since 2016 as the screen printing workshop leader and is currently employed as Screen Studio Manager at Megalo Print Studio.

ELLEN ROSALIE

Ellen Rosalie Gunner is a designer-maker who recently graduated with Honours in Textiles Design from the ANU, School of Art and Design. Having been born in Tennant Creek and lived her childhood in Alice Springs, the Red Centre is where she experienced a strong sense of Hygge (hoo-guh) – the feeling of cosiness and comfortable well-being. Ellen creates handmade collections of printed textiles and artworks that draw upon childhood memories of Hygge, through colourful and organic patterns, appealing textures and tactile embellishments.
