WOOD ENGRAVING

Wood engraving is a form of relief print that enables the creation of highly detailed, yet graphic images, usually on a small scale. In this weekend workshop local artist Pete McLean will guide you through the process of wood engraving including: history of the medium; image design; woodblock preparation; correct use of engraving tools to create an image; and printing.
ABOUT THE TUTOR
Peter McLean is a Canberra based artist with a deep affinity for nature and the environment. Working across a range of printmaking techniques, his work explores our physical, emotional and spiritual relationships with place. You can find out more about Pete’s work here.
